diddi dance Class FAQs
What age groups are the classes for?
Classes are suitable for all children once they are steady on their feet up until they start school, so roughly 12 months to 5 years, however we have had younger children join classes too! Some areas do run classes for babies from sitting to walking, but please check for availability in your area. Every child is very different so it is worth attending a trial to see if your diddi dancer enjoys it.
How do I book a trial class?
The easiest way to book for a trial is on the request a trial page on the website. You select your local diddi dance contact and they will be in touch with details of availability, prices and dates.
When and where are your classes?
For the full list of classes please go to: https://booking.diddidance.com/Class/Find and type in your postcode for your local availability.
How much are classes?
The first session you and your little one attend is a paid trial session so you can get a feel for whether it is something you and your diddi one might like to do on a regular basis, Bookings are then made in half term blocks. Some areas may offer a slightly discounted price if you are signing up siblings to attend the same class at the same time. The prices of classes can differ slightly from location so it’s always best to check with your local diddi dance contact for their most up to date price but you can expect to pay on average between £6-£7 per class.
Do I have to book for a full term?
No, you don’t. We usually offer a half term booking system, but depending on your local contact some may offer pay as you go sessions as well. You can contact them for more information and availability as to whether this is something they offer as it can depend on how quickly the spaces in their classes book up.
Can I just turn up for a session?
It’s best not to just turn up for a session as we would hate to turn any little ones away. Some classes are very popular and we always like to ensure that we have an idea of who is attending beforehand, even if you let us know very last minute so we can confirm whether we have space for you to attend. You can always check on the website to see whether your local class has availability as well. https://booking.diddidance.com/Class/Find
Can you tell me a little more about the class sessions?
All the music we use has been specifically written and recorded for us so it is totally original and extremely catchy! We also teach dance styles from around the world in our half term blocks. Everything from flamenco to disco, hip-hop to bollywood and everything in between. The classes have elements that we repeat week on week for familiarity for our diddi dancers, mixed in with different activities based on the current dance theme to ensure there are new and fresh elements incorporated too.
How long do they last?
diddi dude (walkers) sessions last for 45 minutes.
diddi debutantes (babies) sessions last for 30 minutes
Do parents stay?
Not only to grown-ups stay, we actively encourage participation in the class. We find the more you participate, the more it encourages your little one to do the same. It is also a great opportunity for some quality time with your little one.
What does my little one need to wear?
Most little ones attend the class in everyday clothes and shoes. It is a good idea for them to wear something that they are easily able to move around in. We do have little ones who love to get dressed up too, so if your little one would like to come dressed as a ballerina, rockstar or dinosaur then that is absolutely fine too. We also encourage an extra item to wear for each theme – for example – cowboy hat for country or sunglasses for Reggae.
Can younger siblings attend the session?
Yes, Not a problem. At most of the classes you will see younger siblings in car seats, push chairs, prams or slings. They are welcome to join in and on the prop elements, if there are enough to spare. Once they are more actively participating in the class, then they will need to have a place booked in the class and payment will need to be made for them.
If you have any further questions please contact your local diddi dance. You can find their contact details at http://www.diddidance.com/contact/.
