We’re over the magical moon to announce that Anne-Marie Martin, founder of diddi dance and diddi dance Bexley & Dartford are FINALISTS in the 15th National Whats On 4 Kids Activities 2021 Awards with headline sponsor Morton Michel.

This is the fifteenth year the awards are taking place and has received a massive 45,000 votes and nominations which is a reflection of how important children’s activities providers are to parents.

The event will be held at Warner Bros. Studios Tour London where all eight Harry Potter films were made with the awards ceremony in the original Hogwarts Great Hall film set with fine dining, an exclusive tour and dessert on Platform 9 ¾™!

On Saturday we attended the Club Hub Awards 2021 in Birmingham, where diddi dance sponsored the Independent Business of the Year category which was won by James Smith from Big Bold Youth – HQ . A massive congratulations to him! 🏆

Jane from diddi dance Bexley & Dartford and Dani from diddi dance Sunderland attended the event and said “it was a real pleasure to be back with all these fabulous children’s activity providers after so long, but with friendships, support and business relationships stronger than ever. Its our 17th birthday! Anne-Marie started diddi dance with one class in London back in 2003, and 17 years later has franchisees teaching 16 different dance styles including Bollywood, Disco, Charleston and Rave to preschoolers all over the UK!

During that time we have gained accreditations and won awards, worked and met celebrities, and performed at festivals and shows.

Group Ex-Festival powered by classfinder running this weekend 25-27th September

@classfinder is running a three-day group ex festival from 25th-27th September 2020. There are classes for all ages and abilities, with over 40 fitness brands delivering 45-minute virtual sessions via Zoom 🎉

This event is raising funds to help out the Community Fitness Network Get Yer Kit On project, which works to support young women around the UK to access physical activity. The winners of the National What’s On 4 Awards for the Children’s Activities Sector with Morton Michel were announced at a special awards ceremony last Friday. We are absolutely thrilled and proud to announce that our very own founder of diddi dance Anne-Marie Martin, was presented with the highest honour of The Lifetime Achievement Award.

What’s on 4 said “Anne-Marie’s devotion and passion for the industry is awe-inspiring and relentless. We can’t think of a better name to add to the Lifetime Achievement hall of fame for children’s activities.”

As with the other What’s On 4 awards, The Lifetime Achievement award isn’t voted for by customers which means that Anne-Marie’s achievements over nearly 17 years have been recognised by industry leaders as truly exceptional and worthy of bestowing this most prestigious award.

These pioneering awards were launched in 2007 to celebrate the UK’s best children’s clubs and classes, along with leaders, volunteers and party providers for children – as nominated and voted for by the experts – parents, carers and parents-to-be.

Over the last decade, the What’s On 4 Kids Awards have become established as the industry accolade with hundreds of exceptional businesses and individuals in the flourishing sector keen to be part of the action and be in with a chance to be revealed as a finalist or winner!

Anne-Marie said “I am absolutely honoured and delighted to have been recognised for my work with diddi dance, in receiving The Lifetime Achievement award from What’s On 4 and to join such prestigious previous winners of this award is indeed a privilege.”

She will be taking over the management and direction of all classes & sessions running currently in the area and will be launching some new ones this upcoming September.

A little bit more about Jane:

Tell us a bit about yourself:

My name is Jane and I live in New Eltham London with my husband Neil and our two year old daughter Lucy, I have two teenage stepdaughters Cara and Nancy.

What did you do before diddi dance?

I have been hairdressing for over 20 years along with many different managerial roles at different times in other different customer focused environments. Including supervisory, managerial and proprietor all with teams working for me requiring training, support and HR.

How were you affiliated with your new diddi dance franchise before taking it over?

I attended diddi dance with Lucy and had such a great time it seemed like a fantastic opportunity.

What made you want to take on an already established diddi dance?

My initial interest in diddi dance was upon finding out that my local area franchise was available for purchase. As a parent at a class I was able to see the business in its true light. Taking on an established and reasonably small franchise I felt that I had a great business model to enable me to understand and learn the workings of the business, before expanding and exploring the territory further.

And finally, what are you looking forward to the most with your new diddi dance franchise?

After lone working for five years now I’m really excited to a part of a team again, having a network of support as well as my own teachers to work with.

This is a totally new venture for me a fantastic challenge and I’m looking forward to building a successful business and secure future for my family.
